Interesting Articles >> Diabetes "Treat the Cause"

We all know that II Diabetes has become an epidemic in our country. What can we do about it?

Clients at Essential2Health, Natural Health Center are having tremendous success gaining control over their type II Diabetes "Naturally". Many reduce, and even eliminate, the need for drug therapy. Our approach is to work to identify the cause and design a program that addresses the cause, instead of just treating the symptoms!

Let’s look at several areas that are directly linked to II Diabetes.

First is digestion. Today over 100 million Americans suffer from some sort of digestive stress. It may be gas, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, or even acid reflux, all signs the body is not digesting foods properly. Most cover up the symptoms with anti-acids or prescription acid-blockers. This only takes care of the symptoms, but does nothing to help improve digestion.

Digestive enzymes are key in helping with Diabetes.

Our bodies need enzymes found in fresh, raw food for optimal health. However, most of the foods we eat contain NO Enzymes. Read further to find out why.

It is very important to understand that our bodies are provided with a limited 'reserve' of enzymes at birth. This 'reserve', or supply of life generating enzymes, has to last us a lifetime. The faster we use our enzyme supply, the shorter our lives will be.

There are three main classes of enzymes in the body-metabolic enzymes, digestive enzymes and food enzymes, which are found in raw fresh food. Food we eat cannot be digested without the involvement of enzymes. The body needs enzymes in fresh raw foods to digest the food. Most food eaten today contains NO enzymes because virtually all food eaten is cooked and processed. Heat (118 degrees or higher) destroys the enzymes in fresh food.

Consequently, enzymes are completely destroyed in all foods that are canned, pasteurized, baked, roasted, stewed or fried. Enzymes in raw food actually digest up to 75% of the food itself. How can the body survive on a diet of cooked food that contains no enzymes? It does so by drawing out large quantities of enzymes from the body's own limited supply to aid in the digestion of food. This creates tremendous stress on the organs, such as the pancreas, the liver and the spleen. A lifetime diet of cooked food can cause cellular exhaustion in the body, which breaks down the immune system and the body's ability to protect itself from sickness and disease. Changing to a diet consisting of raw food is simply not practical for most people. The most convenient way to correct the enzyme deficiency in our body is by taking a natural; plant based digestive enzyme supplement with each meal.

second area to consider is mineralization in the body. Did you know that every metabolic process in the body uses minerals?

According to the 1992 Earth Summit, the US has the worst soil in the world, 85% depletion of vital minerals.

Mineral Depletion from soil during the past 100 years, by Continent:

North America - 85%
South America - 76%
Asia - 76%
Africa - 74%
Europe - 72%
Australia - 55%

In 1936, the United States Senate issued Document 264, relating to proper food mineral
balances. It states that impoverished soil in America no longer provides plant foods with
the mineral elements essential to human nourishment and health. The following is a quote
from Document 264 which highlights the importance of minerals in the body:

“We know that vitamins are complex chemical substances which are indispensable to nutrition, and that each of them is of importance for normal function in the body. Disorder and disease result from any vitamin deficiency. It is not commonly realized, however, that vitamins control the body’s appropriation of minerals. Lacking vitamins, the system can make some use of minerals, but lacking minerals, vitamins are useless.”

Minerals are vital and are used in every metabolic process in the body. Because our soils and consequently our food supply are so depleted of minerals, our body robs from within itself in order to maintain essential metabolic functions. As we age, our body continues to pull minerals from our body, bones and teeth, leading to increased bone loss and osteoporosis.
